BxN to host 1st Annual ROCK 4 PETS benefit show; January 10th 2009

November 18th, 2008

On Saturday, January 10th 2009, BxN is teaming up with local and regional bands from the New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware areas to hold the 1st Annual “Rock 4 Pets” benefit show. The event is being held at one of South Jersey’s premier venues for both original and cover music, The Bridgewater Pub. 6 bands have already confirmed their attendance with more to come as this is looking to be an all-day event with all proceeds going to the Cumberland County SPCA animal shelter. In return for their donations, attendees will be treated to an entire day packed with great music and fun. We’ll post more details about this event as they are finalized. As always, BxN thanks you for your support.

Check out some new music!!

November 12th, 2008

We’ve been really busy laying down tracks, editing and mixing our own stuff so it’s presentable to the masses, so by all means check it out. NO APOLOGIES is a very haunting song based on a conversation between two men, one of which is abusing his spouse. If you listen carefully the intro takes on the feel of a very old phonograph recording of an acoustic guitar; soon to transform into the dark/mellow feel of the verses. WISH is a brand new tune for us and is a predecessor to an existing BxN song called Emerge. If you’ve ever felt good about getting out of a relationship gone bad, then wish has a message for you. Newly added to the playlist is 95 also. Ninety Five has an upbeat feel to it and is based on the philosophy of putting your heart into what you love to do and staying true to it. ENJOY!!!

RE: All kinds of updates and good stuff (#1)

October 15th, 2008

1) NEW MEMBERS: Yes, we have 2 new band members that have jumped on board for this year. Ian Moore will take the helm behind the drum kit (in place of the disgruntled ex-drummer Ray Merckx) and “Goggle” Bob Pollack has been promoted to handle keyboarding/samples/production items we need to take our show to the next level. Ian came into our audition quietly and totally smacked the songs we asked him to learn; we were sold. He’s already brought an element to our music that we’ve always wanted and although he is very soft-spoken and shy, don’t let that fool you; he’s a monster behind the kit. Bob has been a part of Bound by Nothing since its’ inception. He’s been a “behind the scenes” kind of guy that handled everything from merchandising to video production. We figured we’d add to his list of duties and include things like ambient sound effects, digital sampling, keyboarding and basically running our entire live set just to be sure he’s busy all the time. Both are great guys and i encourage you to come up and meet them at a BxN show sometime soon.

All Kinds Of Updates & Good Stuff

September 30th, 2008

Yep, I know; It’s been way too long since the last post on this blog, but fear not. There are MAD updates on all fronts of BxN for me to run my mouth about. Let this post serve as a “teaser” to list some of the things i’ll be bringing you up to speed about in the near future.

1) New BxN band members (there are 2, and they are just as weird as the existing members)

2) New BxN music (Fresh, Unique, Dynamic and as always Catchy)

3) New approach to this year’s shows (We’re looking to a different audience)

4) Jim, Matt and Goggle Bob plan a trip to NAMM ‘09 (this you don’t want to miss)

5) Brand new Spector ARC6 “CUSTOM” guitars in the works (oh yeah)

Stay tuned…..

Saturday, August 9th @ The Pennant East in Belmawr, NJ

July 28th, 2008

Yup. We’ve assembled another great night of ORIGINAL music for the Pennant East. For those of you that haven’t made it out to this venue yet, you might want to check it out. It’s a nice size joint, with great house sound, big stage and cool lighting. It’s been around for quite a while (I’m told it used to be called Dick Lee’s). Anyhow, we’ve assembled a great line-up of band for the night, all of which we are friends with. Performing that night: Without Logic from Newark Delaware; Tremor from Philadelphia Pennsylvania; Fire with Fire from Atlantic City New Jersey, Circuit Theory from Blackwood New Jersey and of course yours truely, Bound by Nothing. You can’t beat the cover charge of 5 stinking bucks to come out and see a great night of original music. Hope to see you there!! Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

ReverbNation

July 28th, 2008

Just wanted to write up a quick post regarding my experience with a new website BxN has been using quite frequently called ReverbNation. For those bands out there like us who are used to doing most of your “free” web work with myspace or the equivalent, you owe it to yourself to check out ReverbNation. It’s a GREAT site with all kinds of great tools and useful things for bands trying to get more exposure; almost too much to list here in this entry. Best thing i can recommend is to go check out the site and register your band ASAP so you can start taking advantage of what ReverbNation has to offer.

It’s been a while…

July 28th, 2008

Yeah it has. Might have been 3 months since my last post; so as you can imagine, i’ve got alot to blog about; gear stuff, shows, you name it. Here are some of the things to expect posts about in the “near” future. 1) New pick up experiment in my “Orange” ARC6. 2) Big shows planned for the month of August. 3) Arrival of my 2nd Uberschall. Lots to discuss and catch up on. Sorry it’s been so long since my last post. There’s been a lot going on between my family, work and the madness we call BxN. Stay tuned!! JD
